If Scout had asked you for the explanation, what would you have told her? (To Kill a Mockingbird)?

Scout is confused by Miss Gates's (her teacher) obvious hatred of Hitler for persecuting the Jews sine at the same time she thinks Tom Robinson's conviction was a "good lesson" for the Negroes. When Scout asks Jem to explain this contradiction to her, he flies into a rage, screaming at Sout never to mention the trial to him again. If Scout had asked you for the explanation, what would you have told her.
